👮 Cultural Quarter October Update: Working Together for a Safer City As we move into our second month of our priorities, this is the updates from October. Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour in Public Spaces Our beat team has been actively patrolling known hotspots in the Cultural Quarter, providing a visible and reassuring presence. Where individuals have been identified causing disruption, swift action has been taken to prevent further incidents and demonstrate our commitment to keeping public spaces safe. Preventing Burglary and Retail Theft In response to recent burglary reports, officers have been visiting victims to offer safety advice and gather evidence such as CCTV. Suspects are treated as priority arrests to stop further offences. With the festive season approaching, we’ve also held crime prevention surgeries at local retailers to support staff and shoppers. Safer Nights Out for Women We’ve been working in the Night Time Economy as part of planned operations to identify and challenge predatory behaviour. We continue to encourage everyone to speak up if something doesn’t feel right—your voice matters. Supporting Young People We’re proud to support and celebrate the positive actions of young people. Recently, a group of youths approached PCSO Hannah and a colleague to help an unwell gentleman in the City Centre. Their kindness and initiative reflect the value young people bring to our community. Standing Up Against Domestic Abuse Our officers are working closely with support agencies and housing teams to protect victims of domestic abuse. Perpetrators have been arrested and placed under strict bail conditions to ensure safety and prevent reoffending. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out—support is available.
